Crash site of B-24H-15-CF #41-29364 "Stardust" Code: T9-H. The Lt. Robert L. Mogford Crew (Crew #405) were aboard this aircraft when it collided with B-24H-15-FO #42-52562 being flown by the Prosper F. Pinto Crew (Crew #514). It seems that Pinto, who had taken off before Mogford, experienced engine trouble and tried to turn back to the field in a thick overcast, colliding with the Mogford aircraft. All 20 crew on both aircraft were KIA.
