Delivered Cheyenne 10/3/43; Dow Fd 13/4/43; Assigned 423BS/306BG [RD-R] Thurleigh "MISS PATRICIA"-5 May 1943. Battle-damaged Tricqueville 26 June 1943 with Lt. Col. James W. Wilson. Co-Pilot Captain Raymond J. Check killed by shrapnel from enemy fighter. Wilson, badly burned; plane was flown back to base by William Cassedy, the plane's regular Co-Pilot, who had filled the post of one of the waist gunners on this flight. Bombardier Lionel Drew had bailed out when he heard the alarm bell sounding and managed to evade capture with the help of French citizens and members of the Résistance. Crash-landed Exeter, AFSC 27 June 1943, salvaged. Transferred 323BS/91BG [OR-R/X] Bassingbourn 25/9/43. 23m Returned to the USA Tinker 13/6/44; Reconstruction Finance Corporation (sold for scrap metal in USA) Altus 9/10/45. CHENNAULT'S PAPPY.
