Delivered to Cheyenne 22/8/44; Lincoln 1/9/44; Grenier 11/9/44; Assigned to the 545th Bomb Squadron, 384th Bomb Group [JD-F] Grafton Underwood on
1 October 1944; transferred to the 546th BS, squadron code [BK-D]. On 16 November 1944, During an administrative flight to Villacoublay Airfield, near Paris, France, weather closed in forcing a diversion to A-46 (Toussous le Noble). Through a misunderstanding, pilot landed on a runway that was closed to B-17 traffic. The right main gear sank into a filled bomb crater at the end of the landing roll, damaging portions of the right wing, engines, and propellers. There were no injuries to personnel. The ship was repaired and re-joined the 384th Bomb group as [BK-O]. Moved with the group to Istres Le Tube, France for Green Project (passenger duties); Salvaged 9AF Germany 10/12/45.
