Bio

Mike Whye is a freelance writer-photographer who lives near Omaha, Nebraska. Supplying articles and photographs to publications since the 1980s, he has also authored guidebooks about Iowa, North Dakota and South Dakota and created photo books about Iowa and Nebraska. Son of a WWII navigator, Mike has a keen interest in military aviation, mostly USAAF during WWII, especially the 483rd Bomb Group (Heavy). He also teaches journalism as an adjunct professor at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. My website is being revised. My father, Harry D. Whye, was a navigator in the 483rd Bomb Group (Heavy), usually in B-17G 42-32029, Miss Treated.
