4 missions, shot down over Berlin 5/19/44, 2 survivors (navigator and myself), Prisoner of War (POW) 12 mos. in Stalag Luft IV and VII, freed 4/29/45. 1st aircraft lost in group. Overseas only 3 weeks, injured and hospitalized in Herman Goerring Hospital in Berlin for 1 month. Survived multiple bombings (day & night) in Berlin Prisoner of War (POW). Plane was B-17 42-97339.
