David Stiver flew 31 bomber missions over Europe. He was a member of the Charles Harmon crew in the 34th Bomb Group / 7th Bomb Squadron. He completed his tour, came back to the US and was horably discharged on 20 October 1945. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal with 3 oak leaf clusters.

Based on my father’s USAAF records, medals, and uniform insignia, he attained the rank of Technical Sargent.  He received the Air Medal with 3 oak leaf clusters, the Distinguished Flying Cross, and the European-African-Middle Eastern theater campaign medal with 3 bronze stars.
