near Beauvais, France 20 May 1944 On 20 May 1944, Lt. Blair H. Bradford, with gunners Ssgt Vern E. McIver and Ssgt Clarence Gray was assigned to Mission 50 against Beauvais-Tolle Aerodrome in France. The flight was unable to locate the main target and dropped instead on the airfield at Montdidier. Their aircraft was shot down by heavy flak. Lt. Bradford was killed in action. Both Ssgts Molver and Gray bailed out and were captured by German forces
