B-24 crew member. In A news article in 2010 he reminisces about WW II and VE day. He was on a pass to London when VE day occurred. For 2 days over 1 million people went to London to celebrate and so did he! He even had to get an extension on his pass because all trains stopped service due to the crowds! He met a nice young lady who couldn't get home and they spent the night with hundreds of others in St James Park trying to sleep. She said after the end of rationing she couldn't wait to get a pair of nylon hose from the U. S. When he got back to the states several months later he mailed her 3 pair!

Since retiring as editor of the Asbury Park Sunday Press, New Jersey's second largest newspaper, Si Liberman keeps busy traveling and writing for a number of major publications. In recent months, his stories have appeared in the Boston Globe, St. Petersburg Times, Dallas Morning News, Newark Star-Ledger, Miami Herald, Palm Beach Daily News, Porthole Magazine and Boca Raton Magazine. He summers at the Jersey Shore and winters in Palm Beach.
