63rd Fighter Squadron, 56th Fighter Group. P-47D 42-25721 UN-P “Target For Tonight” bearing the well known “Varga” artwork currently being used as the Virgin Airlines logo. This a/c was lost on 6 July 1944 with Lt. Sam P Lowman Jr., being KIA having been hit by fighters near Beaulieu, France.
