IMAGEAn A-20 Havoc at Debden. Image taken by Edward Ritchie. According to Ed Richie's son Mark: "This is one that Roger Freeman and I puzzled over for years. 43-10160 is not the full serial number - the last digit of is missing. It is not the 422nd Night Fighter Squadron as noted since they only flew the P-61 Black Widow. It is an A-20G-35-DO with the solid nose and racks under the wings for 5 inch rockets. Except it is in glassy black and the national insignia is greyed over like a night fighter. But the A-20 was not a night fighter. It is either a 9th Air Force kite or was used by the OSS for night resupply. This would not explain the glass black verses matt black paint though." Written on slide casing: '422 NFS?, A-20 Debden.'
