Corporal Arthur T. Lindberg, of the 303rd Bomb Group, washes his shirt. Passed for publication 28 Jan 1943. Handwritten caption on reverse: '303BG.' Printed caption on reverse: 'It's rather a change from being a phone order clerk with General Chemical Co., 40 Rector Street, to being his own laundryman with the American Army Air Corps, but Corporal Arthur T. Lindberg, 5525 31st Avenue, Woodside, Long Island, N.Y. can take it. He is quite happy washing his own shirt, so long as he feels he's helping to lick the pants off Hitler. Aged 23, Corp. Lindberg was educated at Bryant High School. The message he wants to send to his parents, and his fiancee, Miss Marlon Orr, 2832 47th Street, St. Astoria, is: "England is a swell place, but I'd rather be in good old New York." ANY 20.' Censor No.: 245667. On reverse: Current Affairs Ltd., US Army Press Censor ETO and US Army General Section Press & Censorship Bureau [Stamps].
