Personnel of the 303rd Bomb Group watch factory workers manufacture bullet proof glass Image stamped on reverse: 'Sport & General.' [stamp], 'Passed for publication 20 Aug 1943.' [stamp] and '279756.' [censor no.] Printed caption on reverse: 'US ARMY AIR FORCE AS HOST TO BRITISH WORKMAN. A British workman who makes indestructo bullet proof glass to protect the pilot & crew of Flying Fortresses was elected by ballot by his workmates to be a guest of the US Army Air Force to visit one of their bomber station & see how his glass is fitted and used. He is Jim Robson and was formerly a Durham miner. First a bomber crew visited the works to see the glass made & then accompanied Robson to their station. The crew who have much experience of operation over the continent included Lt HR Wright of Wilkes-Barre Pen, Lt Edward L Cobb of Cincinnati, Ohio. M/S WC Melton of Springfield, Missouri and T/S Thomas F Kelly of Boston. The bomber crews see bullet proof glass for Fortresses at the factory.'
