Printed caption on reverse: 'American Army Fighters Flay The Huns. Oct. 1942. "First Front" American fighters in Europe are the members of the US Army Air Corps Fighter Groups now operating from their stations in England. The picture was taken at the Headquarters of an already famous American Army group which flies British "Spitfires", beating off enemy attacks or escorting bombers (maybe their own "Fortresses") on raids far into enemy-occupied Europe. "Scrambling" in the new style. Pilots arriving at the dispersal point in a "jeep" are (left to right) Capt. Ralph E. Keyes (Cleveland), 2nd Lieut. A. Gross and Lieut. Miles R. Lynn, both from Pennsylvania.' Censor no: 228741. On reverse: Central Press, US Army Press Censor ETO and US Army General Section Press & Censorship Bureau [Stamps].
