Captain George Lawson congratulates his fellow airman, Flight-Officer MD Hughes, of the 7th Photographic Reconnaissance Group after his first mission. Image stamped on reverse: 'Passed by AAF STA 234. Not to be published.' [stamp] It appears that Flight Officer Hughes (later Captain) flew his first mission in June 1943, not 1944.
