A bomber crew of the 386th Bomb Crew sit on top of their B-26 Marauder (YA-S, serial number 41-31634) nicknamed "Loretta Young". Image via John W Moore. Written on the back of the picture is as follows. "The star of the films autographed this Marauder at Selfridge Field Mich. before it went to England. It has since flown many missions. S/Sgt Clarence Cyford (Far Left) of Baltimore lifted Loretta up to sign her name. Cyford suffered many injuries when a Nazi 20mm shell exploded under the turret from which he was filming. Cyford has since recovered and returned to combat duty. Loretta corresponds with the crew frequently.
