IMAGE"The original four" From (L to R) Lts. George S. Montgomery, Walter E. Murphey, John M. Nicklebur Jr., and Billy J. Murray all trained together at Coleman, Greenville, and Eagle Pass, Texas. They joined the 351st FS/353FG on August 18, 1944 and flew until April 1945, all surviving the war. Collectively they shot down 5.5 enemy aircraft and destroyed numerous planes and material on the ground.
