These two went through flight school in Coleman, Greenville, and Eagle Pass, Texas then joined the 353rd FG / 351st FS in August of 1944. First flying P-47D Thunderbolts and then P-51D Mustangs they finished their tour in April 1945. Murray got the only air tally, downing a ME-262 fighter jet on January 14, 1945 leading Blue Flight.
