IMAGEThis Article was written by a Stars and Stripes reporter named Sgt. Len Collins who attended the brief Ceremony of this feat at Kimbolton, England. "Swamp Fire" Was accredited with being the first to reach "100 Missions without an Abort". When I went to the Museum of Flight in Seattle, Washington for a reunion of "Swamp Fire" Veterans and the families of Veterans who had already passed. We were shown this Article by a museum Docent who told us the story of the day the plant stopped production to read the article to the workers. He stated that the plant was silent as the words came across the loud speakers in every section of the plant until the last words were read and then the walls echoed with cheers for what seemed a very long time. It's true that this feat was a group effort by the workers of Boeing, the Air Combat and Ground Crews. A true representation of their Spirit and Traditions of excellence.
