Master Sergeant J P Wellmaker cleans the guns of a B-17G Flying Fortress (LL-E, serial number 43-37552) nicknamed "The Peacemaker" of the 401st Bomb Squadron, 91st Bomb Group at Bassingbourn whilst a farmer's wife herds a flock of ducks across the base.

The cheek guns on either side of the nose were nicknamed "Mary Lou."

Written on slide casing: '91 BG M/Sgt JF Hallmaker cleans guns.'
