Velmer M. Diefe and Henry D. Chandler shortly before ferry flight to England. Harry and crew flew the B-17G, 43-38809, on Oct.7th 1944 from Lincoln, Nebr. via Grenier Field, Dow Field, Goose Bay, Meeks Field to Valey, Wales. The 43-38809 was later assigned to the 487th BG.
