Lt. William M Beecher [ Brooklyn NY ], 505th Fighter Squadron. No known assigned A/C. Lt. Beecher joined the squadron on 13 February 1945 and was killed in action just seven days later on 20 February. He was flying Jim Starnes’ P-51B 42-106936 6N-X “Tar Heel” and crashed near Valenciennes, France possibly due to vertigo.
