44-8031 30-K was originally assigned to 601st Squadron, of 398th Bomb Group, as an SH aircraft (fitted with a H2X radar scanner, in place of the ball turret). After modification, at Alconbury, the aircraft was later reclassified as a standard B-17 on 26th February, 1945.
