P-51D 44-15589 LH-Q “Lady Gwen II” Capt Robert W Abernathy, 350th Fighter Squadron, a replacement for the first “Lady Gwen” 44-14811. Seen in front of Lady Gwen II are (L) F/O. Glenn E Stapp of the 351st FS and (R) Lt. William A Manahan of the 350th FS. Both pilots were very late replacements in the 353rd FG but still managed five and six missions respectively.
