'Lil Abner' was a veteran of the Ploesti oil refinery raid piloted by Hubert H Whitlock. It returned safely to Benghazi, Libya. Aug 1, 1943. Lost - destroyed on Mission 203 at Augsburg, Germany. On returning from the mission, the aircraft crash landed at it's home base. - Pilot E. D. Thurman. Dec 19, 1943.
