Chug-A-Lug, flew on Operation Tidal Wave, the Ploesti oil refinery bombing mission, piloted by Lt. LeRoy B. Morgan, with the plane returning to Benghazi, Libya, with three crewmen badly wounded by flak splinters. Sgt. James Van Ness died. 1 DOW. Lt. Victor Larson and Sgt. Robert Tipton survived. 2 WIA. 1 Aug 1943.
