Hubert Zemke, later Commander of the 56th Fighter Group, with his Parents Benno and Anna, 1918 Zemke has handwritten on the reverse: 'The family Zemke in 1918 at the end of WW1. At that time I was four years old. Mother had just made the Mao Tse Tung suit for me. Though the harsh wool caused a lot of scratching, I thought it to be the "cats meow" against the cold Montana winters. The part in my hair did not come easy. It took many years of training to finally get it to stay. In those days my hair was always combed over the forehead.'
