The plane appears to be Martin B-26B-15-MA Marauder code AN-U s/n 41-31600 386th Bomb Group 553rd Bomb Squadron 9th Air Force. The human error in understandable re the BG, though - 533 BS belonged to the 381th BG, the fives and threes in 533 and 553 were simply mixed up. The Marauder just can´t be mixed up with the Flying Fortress, from any angle!
