A young boy inspects the wreck of a P-47 Thunderbolt of the Royal Canadian Air Force in France. Handwritten caption on reverse: 'After the man who gave me the photo. This P47 belly landed in July 44 at Bois Arnault (Normandie) near Rugles. The day after a British fighter burned it. The Canadian pilot of the P-47 was taken by German SS and killed the following night. The murderers were found after war and taken back to the place at Rugles for the reconstitution of the killing.
