Anton Kutter, the maternal uncle of Colonely Hubert Zemke, commander of the 56th Fighter Group, in the German Army during the First World War. Zemke has handwritten on the reverse: 'Anton Kutter- 3rd from left (wearing binoculars as an unlisted man in the German Army, Western Front WWI. This picture was taken in 1915. later took aviaition training to become a pilot toward the end of WWII. This man was my mother's brother who later immigrated to the USA in 1922 to become a successful independent cheese maker near Buffalo, New York.'
