A crashed B-26C Marauder, serial number 41-34777, named, Black Fury, of the 456th Bomb Squadron, the 323rd Bomb Group. 19 August 1943. Official caption on image: "(GAD-20-1-323)(19-8-43)(A/C No. 41-34777)(Type B-26C6)." The aircraft appears to have bellied in with a wheels up crash landing. The aircrew in emergency landings preferred to "belly it in" rather than jumping with their parachutes because the Marauder could survive a wheels up landing. 19 August 1943.
