Colonel Hubert Zemke and senior officers of the 56th Fighter Group outside the "Wheel House" in Boxted, May 1944. Handwritten caption on reverse: 'Left to Right - Zemke, Slade, Watson. May 1944 - The "Wheel House" at Boxted. This farm house directly in back of Group Operations served as the billet for the Gp. CO, Gp. [illegible] Officer, Flying F/Ec, Ground F/Ec and the three Sqdn. CO's. Also Dave Robinson, the Gp. [illegible] Officer. It certainly served its purpose and saw plenty of service.'
