Martin (left), Commanding Officer of 7500 East 37th St., Kansas City, Mo. who has led his fighters on the four escort sweeps with heavy bombers before the presence of the ship was announced and Lt. Col. Wallace P. Mace, aged 28, Executive Officer of the group, of 850 Coatsville Ave., Salt Lake City, Utah. Mace was with a U.S. Fighter Squadron the day the Japs attacked, went from there to Midway to fight during the next year and returned to the U.S. to help form the new group.
