Colonel Glenn E. Duncan of the 353rd Fighter Group talks to his crew chief from the cockpit of his P-47 Thunderbolt nicknamed "Dove of Peace", June 1944. Handwritten caption on reverse: 'Best guess March 22 1944. Date taken? Name?' Printed caption on reverse: '53443 USAF - England - Col. Glenn E. Duncan, Houston, Texas, returns in his P-47 Thunderbolt "Dove of Peace", first P-47 to fly over Berlin. He is greeted by his crew chief. U.S. Air Force Photo.' This photo was taken June 13, 1944 at Raydon. Duncan is seated in a P-47D-25 which is not his aircraft (he was never assigned a D-25). Cpl. Andrew E. Brymer of the 350th Fighter Squadron (probably the crew chief for this aircraft as he was not Duncan's usual crew chief) is to Duncan's left and is probably handing him the 'Form 1' to sign indicating any problems encountered with the aircraft.
