A street scene in Constantine, Algeria, photographed by an airman of the 385th Bomb Group. Crews from the 385th Bomb Group landed at the nearby Telerghma airfield, after the Regensburg mission on 17 August 1943. The shop visible at the end of the street is a 'bijouterie', which would have sold jewelry and trinkets. The shop on the right of the photo, with its shutters down, has the name of the shop and its proprietor on its awning - '? Progres Constantin? ?' and 'Chippih Mohamed'. Official caption on image: "A-2." Passed for publication 6 Sep 1943. Printed caption on reverse: '#20: North African Street Scene.' Censor no: 282417. On reverse: US Army Press Censor ETO and US Army General Section Press & Censorship Bureau [Stamps].
