Detailed History
Erected by the Sixth Earl of Stradbroke to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the collision of two aircraft of the 93rd Bomb Group on 29 March 1944. Most of both crew were killed, as well as several personnel from nearby Holton Airfield. This isn't a very accurate memorial, but is well cared for. It is on a private estate, owned by the Earl of Stradbroke, so can only be seen on open days or by arrangement with the Estate.
