William R Hayden
Military ROLL OF HONOUROn the operational mission of the 29 December 1943 it is believed that Lt. Hayden collided in mid-air with P-47 of the 360 Fighter Squadron. The collision occurred in the Soissons, France area. One plane immediately went into an uncontrollable spin; the other did a snap roll and then glided straight ahead losing altitude rapidly. Last observed at 4000 ft. still going down. Status:M. I. A. 29 December 1943. Changed to Determined Dead 6 August 1945. Killed in Action (KIA).
