Missing Air Crew Report 678 via Fold3.com
Note: in Apple TV's Masters of the Air (2024) Hinton is depicted as dying inside the ball turret after being left behind by William Quinn- this event is fictional. The Individual casualty questionnaires completed by the rest of the crew in the Missing Air Crew Report report that Hinton was out of the ball turret before they bailed out, and they suspected he may have stayed too long in the aircraft assisting Musante. Hinton is also referred to by the nickname 'Babyface' another fictional detail unsupported by historical sources.
Added an Association to the 100th BG, the parent bomb group of the 349th, 350th, 351st & 418th Bomb Squadrons.
Added an association to “Thorpe Abbotts”, the home base of the 100th BG.
Added a "-" to the A/C serial number in the "Summary biography" to aid clarity & consistency.
