La Center, KY 20 March 2006 Tuesday, March 21, 2006 LA CENTER, Ky. ? Joseph William ?Billy Joe? Simmons, 86, of La Center died at 2:15 p.m. Monday at Life Care Center of La Center. Mr. Simmons was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Barlow, where he was a deacon. He was a former board member of Ballard County Farm Bureau. Surviving are his wife, Lunelle Jennings Simmons; a son, Keith Barton Simmons of Nashville, Tenn.; a daughter, Jan Simmons Sears of Henderson; two sisters, Betty Lou Stewart of Jackson, Tenn., and Katherine Steilberg of Louisville; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jesse Lane Simmons; two brothers; and a sister. His parents were William Simmons and Mattie Lee Simmons. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Antioch Baptist Church in Barlow with the Rev. Robert Bickford officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Barlow.
