William J Koenig
Military ROLL OF HONOURShot down 5 November 1943 in B-17 #4230142 'Pistol Packin' Mama. ' Koenig and other members of the crew were arrested at the crash site. They escaped from a moving train outside of Rotterdam. Three of them were passed to the Dutch-Paris escape line. They were in the Dutch-Paris safe house on the rue Lhomond in Paris when it was raided on February 26, 1944. Koenig and the other aviators walked out of the city that day.
