William H Spinning
MilitarySeverely damaged by fighters on a mission to Frankfurt am Main, GR on 11 Feb 1944, B-17F #42-29863 'Kentucky Babe' crashed near Neuville Coppegueule, FR after being abandoned by the crew. Evaded (EVD). While evading near Vieux Rouen sur Bresle, he met a man named Artur Lanciaux who took him to Paris and put him in touch with the underground. He was taken to Plouha, Brittany and returned to England around 17 Mar 1944.
