William (Bill) F. Doerr Jr. was born on Jan. 16, 1924. He grew up in St. Louis County, Missouri. He registered for military service on June 30, 1942. He served with the 94th Bomb Group (331st and 333rd squadrons). Flew with Robert Schrader's crew as the Top Turret Gunner / Flight Engineer. After the war he married his wife, Eileen. They had 7 children and subsequently many grandchildren. He worked at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in St. Louis. He was an avid outdoorsman, fisherman, hunter, and a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother. He passed away on February 12, 2003 and is buried at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
