Wayne Marsh was killed on duty when a RCAF Halifax crashed near Duxford airfield on 3 September 1944. He and Louis Streb had rushed to crash scene to help rescue the crew when the aircraft exploded, killing them both. He is buried at Rockfield Cemetery, Veedersburg, Indiana.
