My greatest experience was to have led the entire 8th Air Force at least three times into Germany (lead plane - lead navigator). My greatest memory was one clear day in late Feb. Or March '45 where the 8th and the RAF had an all-out day. The RAF was coming out and the entire 8th was going in there. Must have been 10,000-12,000 planes in the sky. It was an awesome flight.
