MilitaryB-24 'Squat 'N Droppit' #41-28710 shot down by flak and fighters, crashed near Bonnehain 12 June 1944, Prisoner of War (POW). Taken to Rennes Prison Camp. Transferred to Chartreuse Musical University. Sent to German prison camp via Paris and then on to Frankfurt, Germany. Traveled by boxcar to Stalag Luft #4 near Polish border. February 1945, traveled by foot 53 days to Northern Germany near the Baltic, down to Hanover. Rescued by British forces in Hanover. Then sent to Brussels, Belguim. Traveled by convoy to Le Havre, France. Traveled back to America by boat.
