Returned from an escort mission to Osnabruck, GR in P-38J #42-67231due to mechanical problem with the right engine and crashed near RAF station Tuddenham after the pilot baled when the same engine caught fire. RTD. Lost power in both engines on a bomber escort mission to Berlin on 22 Mar 44 in P-38J #42-67919 and crashed at Langenhorst, GR. Prisoner of War (POW).
