Stanley M Doll

Military

78th FG, 1042nd Signal Company: T/Sgt Doll enlisted at Fort Sheridan, Illinois in 1942 and was stationed at Westover Field, Massachusetts before arriving in England. As a non- commissioned officer he was in charge of Base Signal Supplies for approximately two years and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal. His recommendation was for developing a consolidated requisition form for use in Base Signal Supply. His observance of the existing forms convinced him that a shorter, more uniform and stream-lined requisition was needed. ‘The form “400” which was painstakingly perfected and which reflects the highest credit upon himself […] was immediately accepted and put into universal use throughout the Vlll Fighter Command. […] The initiative, meritorious achievement, perseverance, devotion to duty and technical and practical knowledge of Signal Supply of T/Sgt. Doll has prevented dead-lining of any aircraft of the 78th Fighter Group through lack of communication equipment, and not only reflects great credit upon himself and the armed forces of the United States, but is also in keeping with the highest traditions of the Military Service.’
