MilitaryJoined squad 16 Mar 1943. DS/Station 115 12 Dec 1943. Returned to base 12 Jan 1944. Promoted to 2nd Lt. 19 Feb 1944. B-24D #42-63965 ran off the end of the runway on take off and crashed in a field due to icing on the wings on an operational mission on 5 Mar 1944. RTD. Observer on this flight. Engine problems inbound to the target of Friedrichshafen on 18 Mar 1944, B-24J #42-100112 'Paper Doll' with two engines out crashed near Dietschwill, Switzerland after the crew baled out. Interned. Returned to base 13 Oct 1944.
