Crashed near Karlovy on 2 Mar 45 in B-17 #44-6573. Prisoner of War (POW). The crew were on their 4th mission- target the Petro-Chemical facility at Bohlen. They were hit by FW-190s and Selmer bailed out. He came down in a small town and was quickly rounded up. Most of the crew were killed, he was injured and lost an eye.
