During a training flight on third attempt to land in poor visibility with one engine out, B-24H #42-7532 'Lead Poison' skidded and ran off the runway. RTD. Losing one engine to mechanical problems enroute to the target of Friedrichshafen, GR on 18 March 1944, B-24H #42-7513 'Pistol Packin' Mama' lost another engine due flak and turned towards Switzerland and landed at Dubendorgf. Interned.
