Crashed in the channel due to engine problems on a mission to V-sites in the Pas-de-Calais, FR area on 28 Feb 44 in plane B-17G #42-31203. Nine crew were rescued. RTD. Rammed by enemy aircraft in B-17 #42-31787 and crashed at Langerhain south of Koblenz 12 May 1944. Target was aircraft repair factory. Prisoner of War (POW).
